Black Mountain, N.C. – After notching the season’s first win earlier this week, the North Greenville JV soccer team dropped a road contest to Montreat 2-0 on Thursday afternoon.
“Montreat played well tonight and we just did not play our best,” said head coach Kyle Walden. “The guys fought back but we just couldn’t finish. We will do our best to put this game behind us and focus on the next one.”
The Cavaliers scored goals in the 29th and 56th minute as they outshot North Greenville 12-4 in the game.
Crusader keeper Nick Williams recorded a season-high seven saves in the contest while Justin King totaled three saves on the night.
The Crusaders (1-3-2) will begin a two-game home stand on Thursday, Oct. 13 as they play host to Montreat College at 6:30 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
