Lady Crusaders Draw With Mount Olive

Tigerville, SC – In a late-season contest with one of Conference Carolinas’ top teams, the North Greenville women’s soccer team tied Mount Olive College 1-1 on Saturday afternoon in Pepsi Stadium.


The Trojans (9-3-2, 7-2 in conference) scored their only goal of the game in the 2nd minute of play as forward Lindsey Stanley scored on a penalty kick.


North Greenville and Mount Olive traded possessions for much of the game until forward Noelle Beasley scored her sixth goal of the season after finishing a ball played to her by Jade Salle.
After Beasley’s game-tying goal, the teams went into two overtime period but neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage.


North Greenville keeper Regina Ibanga recorded 11 saves in the game as Mount Olive outshot North Greenville 27-12 in the game.


The Lady Crusaders (5-7-2, 4-5-2) will take to the road for their final game of the 2011 season on Tuesday, Oct. 25 as they head to Misenheimer, NC to take on conference foe Pfeiffer College at 1 p.m.
