Women's Track and Field Earns Three Wins At Furman Invitational

Greenville, SC – The North Greenville University women’s track and field team claimed three first place finishes and a number of runner-up finishes in the Furman Invitational on Saturday.
The 4x400 meter relay team earned a first place finish with a time of 52.23, while Nastassia Sanford had a flight of 16’ ¼” in the long jump to earn the victory. Kaitlyn Pierce garnered the Crusaders final first place finish after clearing a height of 5’ 3” in the high jump.
Sanford continued her fantastic day with a second place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.63, while Mercedes Cunningham earned a second place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.23. North Greenville’s final runner-up finishes came in the pole vault as Jessica Miller and Chelsea Dyson each cleared 8’ ½” to tie for second place.
The Crusaders’ final meet will be on April 20-21 when compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship in Banner Elk, NC on the campus of Lees McRae College.
