Tigerville, SC – In a game shortened by rain and lightning, the North Greenville University men’s soccer team picked up its second straight Conference Carolinas victory with a 2-0 shutout of Mount Olive College on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Adam Turner scored the Crusaders’ first goal of the game in the 39th minute to give the team a one goal advantage.
Turner scored his second goal of the game and team-high sixth goal of the season in the 43rd minute on an assist from defender Wil Pickel to give the Crusaders a 2-0 advantage that lasted until the game was called early due to inclement weather with 14:35 remaining on the clock.
Keeper Justen Braddock earned the shutout and recorded one save as the Crusader defense held the Trojans to just two shots in the game.
North Greenville (3-4-1, 2-3 in conference) will play its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 3 when the Crusaders travel to Newberry, SC to take on Newberry College at 4 p.m.
