JV SOCCER SUFFERS BACK TO BACK LOSSES

By Cory Guinn
Brevard, NC - In the final road game of the 2012 season, the North Greenville University JV soccer team lost to Brevard College 2-1 on Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first half for both teams, the Tornados scored their first goal of the game in the 48th minute. Brevard followed up with their second and final goal of the game in the 77th minute to gain a two-goal advantage.

The Crusaders battled back to score a goal of their own in the 82nd minute as freshman Asa Wolfe scored an unassisted goal from 30 yards out.

Brevard outshot North Greenville 14-8 in the game as goalkeeper Andrew Duncan recorded a season-high seven saves, bringing his season total to 14 saves in four games.

" My guys worked hard and showed resilience throughout the game," said head coach Kyle Walden. "As a team we just couldn't get shots to go our way and we have to prepare better for our next game."

North Greenville (1-2-1) will return to Tigerville to begin a six-game home stand, starting with a matchup with Truett McConnell College on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m.
